Vacation days are overrated. With your trusty temporal remote and transport pad, visit many different eras across space and time, meet people, collect artifacts, gain skills, and return only moments after you left because, well, it’s a time machine. Others will never know you spent months sailing with pirates, exploring future worlds, bungling ancient hieroglyphs, or accidentally changing the present through time-altering butterfly effects. Only your Time Journal remembers your true adventures.
Make money selling artifacts from different eras, or building gadgets on an alien fabrication station at home to sell at a bazaar in the distant future. Occasionally, unique NPCs from the past or future may follow you home through the timestream. Should another version of you suddenly appear, don’t worry. They probably just forgot something.
This project includes 31 custom objects and 14 new NPCs. The larger storyline blends researched historical facts with scientifically plausible future concepts, and lots of humor, all experienced from the perspective of a potentially bumbling time traveler.

Some visitors bring food, drink, or other swag. Timestream hijackers can get overwhelmed, panic and flee into the world. Others are curious, friendly and hang out. Like visitors, they all eventually leave the lot to explore more of this time period unless you travel with them or welcome them into the family.

One possible excursion takes Sims to Earth 4 billion years ago, where temporal PPE lets them safely collect some pre-life primordial soup from a hydrothermal vent. Sims can responsibly return it to the exact moment it was taken to preserve history, or bring it home, leave it unattended on a counter, and wander off to clap at the newest chair. If anyone drinks it, they’ll regret not asking first. Besides tasting terrible, destroying any of it before returning it can trigger a butterfly effect that ripples through time and alters the present. Objects and Sims suddenly look different, some have new careers, and reality as it was never actually happened. (Note: To prevent gameplay frustrations, any changes can be undone if desired).

This fabrication station was designed to assist proficient alien engineers in the future, not modern Sims with no hope of understanding its advanced technology. But Sims can still haphazardly swing tools and smash buttons until it makes some parts, then let the fabricator intuitively assemble them into… something. Who knows, it could be the next great innovation, or just a janky brick. Sims can earn Mechanical points building these mysterious artifacts, then sell them at the Grand Bazaar in the distant future. Merchants there love puzzling over mysterious devices from unknown inventors. Just pretend you’re an eccentric genius from an obscure world, not an ancient Sim with hands that only point, open and close.

After a Sim travels to a new point in spacetime, the adventure details are displayed and saved to the Time Journal. Each entry records where and when the journey occurred, who or what was brought back, and how those actions may or may not have affected history. Because the journeys occur out of sequence, reading the entries here in chronological order better reveals the larger story of humanity’s progress throughout its existence.
