Legends say this ancient spring has provided countless families a continuous multi-generational lineage. Drop in a coin, make a wish, and create a full lifecycle experience for your Sim’s family. Whether welcoming new genetic progeny, growing up children, adding pets, passing away older Sims, or even resurrecting the dead, the Eternal Spring is a timeless addition to any lot. Self Care features can also help manage all mood needs to keep your family happy and healthy for generations to come.
Sims 1 wasn’t originally built for generational life-cycles, but the features below help to accomplish that. Please comment below or on our Discord with any ideas or even random thoughts you may have to make this theme even better.
- Resurrect the Dead – Bring back any deceased Sim or pet that has a tombstone/urn, including any pre-existing ones like those on the Goth lot. You can add these Sims into your family, or keep them around a while as Townie visitors.
- Grow Up Child – The child will instantly grow into an adult, with new adult interests and personality. You can change their outfit if they look like a mixed-bag Townie (instructions for changing the head are in the “readme” file).
- Create New Child – Skip those bassinette days and go right to the finished product. The child will have the same skin tone (genetics) as the Sim making the wish. You pick the name and gender.
- Create New Pet – Since cats and dogs are family too, they can be generated. Pick the name, gender and breed.
- Honorable Seppuku – When dying of old age isn’t an option and the time has come to make room for the next generation in that tight 8 Sim family, committing honorable seppuku with grace and respect is safer than dying while making breakfast and cleaner than starving to death in a crowded bathroom. But less hilarious.
- Euthanize Pet – Same goes for family pets. Or maybe you just want to build a vast Pet Cemetery with customized ghosts. Because a Pet Cemetery never goes wrong.
- Tombstones/Urns – Standard game tombstones are used here, but Sims won’t autonomously obsess over them nonstop for hours or days while ignoring important tasks. Sims can still Mourn if you choose. The Eternal Spring applies this to all tombstones on the lot, no matter how they were created. You’re welcome.
- Cure Sickness – Cures all diseases, well both of them. The guinea pig disease and the “poopy pants” disease can be wished away with the flip of a coin. Science!
- Fun – Tired of the same TV shows over and over? High-pitched sock puppets less fun than they never used to be? Wish for Fun points, it’s easy. Unless it backfires. There are only 13 funny ways that that can happen (spoiler is in the “readme” file).
- Self Care – Various mood-boosting actions that keep a family healthy and happy, sometimes to the amusement or annoyance of nearby Sims:
- Wash – Boosts Hygiene
- Drink – Boosts Hunger, Fun, Comfort; reduces Bladder
- Dance in Spring – Boosts Fun, Social, Hygiene
- Pee – Boosts Bladder; reduces Hygiene
- Commune w/ Nature – Boosts Comfort, Energy
- Sim Chi Workout – Boosts Body Skill; reduces Energy
- Spring Dweller NPCs – They leave their wet spring home from time to time, sometimes to scold a disrespectful Sim, sometimes for evening meditation. You can interact with them, travel with them, and more.
The Eternal Spring can also be used on any destination lot, but the Grow Up function only works at home and on Vacation Island.
