This is a game-within-a-game that you and your Sims can play together. Dr. Bobby Black has been assaulted! This whodunnit mystery mini-game is a competition between your Sims and NPC potential suspects. Get Bobby Black’s body from Buy Mode and place it in an open space in your house or yard. Five possible weapons (clues) will then scatter around the house and five colorful NPC suspects (the other players) will arrive to begin their own investigations.
Inspect clues, question suspects, gather evidence (as tokens in your Inventory) and solve the crime to find out who did it, and with which object. Make an accusation anytime by clicking on the Investigator NPC. There are penalties for incorrect guesses and a valuable trophy for the winner. Ideally, you solve the case by collecting all 8 tokens and, through the process of elimination, identify the missing 2 tokens and deduce whodunnit and with what. But remember, this is a competition so time is a factor!
More gameplay details are below and in the game by asking the Investigator NPC. Enjoy!

Content within this download includes:
- Lawful NPCs – Dr. Bobby Black is the Buy Mode object (body) that starts the game. Everything populates your lot after he is placed in a relatively open space (like a living room or yard). Investigator Grey guards the doctor, punishes the criminal, and fields questions and accusations during gameplay.
- Suspect NPCs – Major Mustard, Governor Greene, Professor Plumes, Ms. Peecock, and Ms. Scarlette. Each new game provides a different guilty suspect and weapon.
- Clues / Potential Weapons – Candlestick, Dagger, Lead Pipe, Revolver, Rope. These objects delete themselves after the case is solved, and reappear in different places when a new game is started.
- Inventory Tokens – A token exists for every corresponding suspect and weapon. The missing tokens represent the “guilty” ones. If a weapon has it’s token, usually the first Sim/NPC to investigate it gets that weapon token (added to their Inventory). Suspects are pre-loaded with different suspect tokens. If a suspect you question has a token corresponding to the weapon or suspect that you asked about, they have to share it, and vise versa. All tokens are deleted after the case is solved.
- Mini-Game Difficulty Settings – At the start of each new game, you can choose Easy, Moderate, or Difficult. Each setting changes how rapidly, intelligently, AND deceptively the Suspects investigate the case, and you will notice the behavioral differences.
- (Optional) SimFreak’s Magpie Trap Mystery Theme – Those of you familiar with this older theme on Simfreaks.com may recognize the formal skins used by the Suspect NPCs. You can read their story submitted by Paul Howls of Cluedofan.com and download NPC themed houses and loads of related custom content for free here: https://simfreaks.com/themes/storytime/mystery/.
