Lake Haven Townhomes gives university life a little more breathing room by trading the usual dorm hallway for a small neighborhood of connected student homes. Warm stucco walls, blue accents, steep dark roofs and small balconies give the buildings a coordinated look, while the interiors have personalities of their own. Colorful carpets, varied furniture and an eclectic mix of bedrooms and common rooms make the lot feel like a student community that has collected a few decorating opinions along the way.

Students will not politely stay in their assigned building all day, which is part of the charm. Kitchens, lounges, computer desks and recreation spaces give Sims plenty of reasons to wander between homes, settle onto someone else’s sofa or discover that the best place to study is wherever their homework currently isn’t. Some rooms feel quiet and practical; others offer a pool table, games or comfortable seating for conversations that somehow last until class starts.

Upstairs, the bedrooms range from modest single beds and desks to shared rooms, bright furnishings and canopy beds for students with rather ambitious expectations of college housing. Bedrooms can be locked to discourage surprise visitors, and some shared rooms have two beds with separate doors so both occupants can claim their space without trapping a roommate outside. Shared upstairs landings also allow movement between neighboring bathrooms and staircases, giving privacy that familiar dorm quality: available, but occasionally requiring negotiation.

The central courtyard brings the whole community together. Trees and planted beds shade the outdoor tables, while chess tables and easels offer something to do between classes. The swimming pool provides a convincing argument for putting off an assignment, and the raised music stage includes instruments for students who believe forming a band counts as developing a career plan. Their neighbors may have opinions about the rehearsal schedule.

A wooden footbridge leads across the water to the separate blue gym building, where workout equipment, showers and lockers give students a place to work off cafeteria meals or pursue a sudden burst of discipline. Between the gym, pool, courtyard and varied townhome interiors, Lake Haven offers plenty of ways to build skills, make friends and become thoroughly distracted within walking distance of bed.

Perfect for Sims who want the bustle of dorm life with the character of a small campus village. Homework may be required, but remembering which townhome they left it in is entirely the student’s responsibility.
